2024 Porsche 911 Carrera T (992.1) | Misunderstood by Many

Показать описание
The 2024 Porsche 911 Carrera T (992.1) is everything you would expect from an entry level Porsche. It has all inputs perfectly dialed in and it drives exactly the way you want it to—no learning curve required. However, its engine may be perceived as underpowered by some. This raises the question: does the 911 Carrera T leave us wanting for more? And how does it stack up against similarly priced cars?

Thanks to Zack for letting me review his car and @Zygrene for making this video possible.

Best car I have every owned. Prior 911 was a 991.2 Turbo. Stupid fast, couldnt exploit power without losing license. T about perfect. Back road Cali driving is where it rules.

That sound, that build quality, that confidence in reliability, without compromising the fun factor or daily practicality. There are cars, and then there are porsches.

Can't talk about how people should drive their cars when you're driving like you do. Why are you micro correcting constantly. Unnecessary

The manual T delivers for me one of the best driving experience within the 911 range. Many of the modern 911s are nowadays too polished, to perfect and sometimes even too fast. This one feels special, true engaging and still a little bit raw. And I think in that way it is better without RAS.

I think the 992.1 will be remembered as one of the greatest 911 generations ever. If I could get one I would have gotten a 992.1 Carrera 4S Cabriolet Manual

I had a deposit down on an Emira for 2.5 years, but finally gave up. The problems the early Euro cars were having scared me away. The Emira is a beautiful and fantastic drivers car. I hope you got a good one. I ordered a '24 T last September and I absolutely love it. I also own a 997 so I have the best of both worlds. The 997 definitely gives you more feedback, but the power, styling and absolute comfort of the 992 is hard to beat.

Tear me apart but a low optioned Carrera S with a stick makes more sense to me. 60+ additional hp with no mods that void warranty for a slight price increase. Win win.

Nice review Kevin, looking forward to seeing the one on my S and your impressions without RAS

You have a valid point on the RAS, and it’s great you compared the S without it, but I wonder how much you’re really enhancing the handling experience with it. My 2024 T is spec’d very similarly to this car but I opted out of RAS. My rationale was I wanted as much of an analog experience as I could get in a modern car. So far I have experienced full confidence in tight turns at higher speeds without it.

A blindfolded person would not tell the difference between the S and the T. The 911 is better than the Cayman because you have more space inside the cabin. That’s why they put the engine in the back in the first place.

It doesn’t matter if its the “slowest” 911 in the line up because at the end of the day it IS still a Porsche that not everyone can afford.
Kudos to the owner. 🤘🏻

Always look forward to your reviews. For the record, 911 cup cars and GT3 cars have always been rear engined. The only mid engine version was the RSR in GTE class mostly for aero advantages (moving the engine up allowed for a larger rear diffuser), and also improved tire wear.

Thank you. Very informative. Any heads-up on what gets nasty about the piano-black fascia and how to protect it?

How would you rate the enjoyment and fun factor vs. your Emira? You talked about build quality, was hoping for the dynamics comments!

Has anyone noticed he has very fast hands on the wheel always seems to be putting steering input into the car even on straights. Is this kick back from the wheel? Very bumpy Road?

How’s this 7 speed manual better than a 6 speed? The GT4/spyder 6 speed felt good to me. The 991.2 7 speed GTS felt rubbery and soft and not clinical like the 6 speed.

Hey Kevin, what is your impression in terms of comfort, road noise, performance, and fun compared to the LC500? Great seeing you on this channel!

I don't totally understand how you could walk past a $102k Boxster GTS 4.0 and get a 992.1 Carrera T, if you're a driving enthusiast.
There's some fair competition in the marketplace at $102k even, from older Pcars and other brands. $150k seems a bit wild IMO

Did anyone notice the 70s Trans Am Firebird at 11:45? 😮

Too much tech in cars now, takes away from the driving experience.

That being said, Porsche is still the leader in every category. Would just love a completely digital/ tech free car for less $$$$.
