I’ve put a lot of miles on various Mitsubishi Outlanders over the years — and in my Northern Ontario locale, Mitsubishi’s top crossover is a popular sight on our roads. Many shoppers gravitate towards the model for its confidence-enhancing AWD system, lengthy warranty coverage, and strong blend of pricing and feature content.

The last complete generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander ran model years 2014-2021 inclusive. An all-new Outlander came online for model-year 2022, replacing its predecessor and marking that machine’s shift fully into used crossover territory. Several updates were applied throughout this generation Outlander, including a restyle, a new transmission, and the addition of new value-adding feature content.

From model-year 2016 and on, a major overhaul gave the Mitsubishi Outlander a host of improvements to its looks, driveline, and comfort. The automaker put a keen focus on reducing noise and vibration levels around a re-tuned suspension system and new driveline components, taking the Outlander’s driving experience to new levels of refinement.

I bought a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT new, and it runs great. I just barely changed the spark plugs after this entire time with my vehicle having 85, 000 miles on it and it ran as good as when I bought it. I never had any issues with it, and I'm not trying to speak highly of it. I got the GT because of the V6 engine since I do a lot of stuff with it like put heavy wood on the roof with the roof racks, go on long road trips, and actually take it on mild off road places. I do keep up with the oil change, transfer case, rear differential, transmission fluid and I'm about to go flush the radiator fluid. All those things are what people are SUPPOSE to do anyways, but then after owning any vehicle after 3 years, will end up having engine problems after only giving the vehicle a handful of oil changes and then blame the manufacturer for making a 'crappy car'. Mitsubishi Outlander is a real reliable vehicle but I highly recommend getting the V6 as it is more powerful and even the new generation as good as it looks, dropped the V6 to have the same 2.5 liter engine throughout every trim. Yeah so I really never had any major issues and I never had any issues this video mentioned. The only problem I keep getting actually is a display saying 'Routine maintenance is required' or something along those lines, but I did everything so I think it's a setting that needs to be reset.

i have been looking on a million Outlander's for a good maintained one 2007-2013 and i am just horrified over the rustproblems theese cars have, the rust protection theese cars get is not good at all, it is like the 70's all over again, as usual when Renault co exist with another brand, they manage to make shit of everything, it is the same with Nissan, but they have other problems then rust.
