Just got mine, been practicing for a week, not gonna lie biggest priority for me was learning to dismount. Officially went on my first ride yesterday, was a bit nervous but I did it.

I got one of these during black Friday and proceeded to sprain my knee the 2nd day learning how to ride. Couldn't get on again until this month but it's really fun. I've never done any board sports so it's been slow to learn, but no regrets.

For the price and maintenance, I decided it was much more reasonable to get an electric skateboard. For the price of a one wheel GT you can get a heavy duty all terrain e-skateboard. For a quarter of the price you can get similar range on a city board.

If you're into these sorts of things, you should look into it. In addition to skateboards, bikes and one wheels, there's even electric unicycles and scooters, each with pros and cons.

When you tried to go over a root like you did, You just need to stay on the board and de-weight. Basically bend your knees low and when you hit the root, stand up tall to take your weight off the board and it will climb right over the root.

To anyone thinking of getting one of these. Just make sure you understand that one wheel is very anti right to repair. Swapping out your battery will completely brick yours.
