Volkswagen Polo hatchback review - Carbuyer

I bought the Polo because it is the best car in its class. Maybe not the most exciting but on balance it is a clear leader.

I don't own a Polo myself but having driven one it's very good. Bit sick of the generic reviewer statements of "Fiesta is fun" and "Polo is dull", which I'm sure they just jump onto the bandwagon with. I've driven a few Fiestas and they're not what I'd call fun. Just ignore the Fiesta hype nonsense, even though I see them as good cars.

Huge and welcome improvement in the review with no fade at the end of every sentence. Car buyer does have very practical and useful reviews. My favourite and beats others by a massive margin. Both the reviewers are good to look at and do their job in a professional manner. Keep it up.

I don't get why 'fun' is a factor here. I'm more concerned about reliability - mum got through 4 Ford batteries in the space of a year because of faults in the Bluetooth system which they failed to identify. She's now had a VW for 18 months with no issues, not to mention is a visually beautiful car inside. I which I'd prefer; a less 'fun' car but one that I know will actually start... 😒😒

Despite the lack of enthusiasm from this guy in the video who starts off the review by bashing the facelift, I like the "new"  Polo and the changes done to it. Yes it may not be a major update, but I for one do not have a problem with that. 

I test drived the RIO, Fiesta and Polo and liked them all, they all have unique good features. Just like not everyone will buy an Iphone as their choice of Phone, not everyone is going to buy a Fiesta as their choice of Car.

Looks a bit boring, but at least it's not ugly like the Fiesta (especially the back). And I hate it when small cars are styled to look overly funky with cheap colorful plastic interiors and tons of styling features. Especially since they then look really outdated after a few years. The Polo maybe goes a bit too far in the conservative direction, but it would still be my choice.

But i think that all cars can be fun even if they arent the greatest handling or quickest! It may not be as sharp to drive as a Fiesta but you can have just as much fun down a country road trying to carry the speed and how much you have to turn it in and all that. Personally, i love the Polo!

I think the 2014 Volkswagen Polo is one of the best Suprmini's in its class

I was torn between the kia rio 2 and the 2011 polo. I went with the polo in the end and I love it. Yes this is just a face-lift with some big changes in the inside. I would love this new polo in white. I think it will look ever so smart and sexy. Like other people have said, it's just personal preference. Yes it is a bit conservative on the inside but it doesn't mean it's bad. It's a great super mini car and we'll built.

Nice car, looks massive now, if you can easily fit four 6' adults in it, looks like a golf too !!!
I'd still like for you to tell us how much the actual test vehicles are when you're reviewing, as they tend to be hi-spec from the manufacturers for you Journos to test !!!

Why did they film it on a runway, I mean HELLO who's going to drive there car on a runway, honestly I prefer when they film in the town.

Also what do you all mean the polo looks rubbish I think it looks very smart and handsome so don't get all these bad comments about it looking boring into your head because really it is a very well made, well designed car and I would be very proud to own one.
