I played this on a PS3 super slim - for some reason, the framerate tanks when you start this boss fight - was super frustrating because of the choppy framerate

Yes Phanalx is a female. You fight her black phantom in boletaria 4.4 iirc.

This boss is easy.
You just have to kill all slimers and you have to kill phalanx with Turpentine.
Easy boss. XD
