If Rick just stood there silently for a few minutes, the guy wouldve dropped the price to 1500..

I can only imagine car salesmen having a field day with this guy.

He could have easily got 3500 from Rick. He misinterpreted Rick's question as a counter offer. Rick was taking the offer at 3100 no problem.

Five minutes later Chumlee and Corey were having a sword fight in the storage area

How much do you want?
"3100"
Why such a specific number?
"Okay 3000, not a penny less."
Wait, what happened to the 3100?
"Ugh, you drive a hard bargain, Rick. Just take them for free."

Rick
Seller: This is a ancient sword
Rick: ok how much do you want?
Seller: I want to sell it for free
Rick: How about -45

That guy is probably the worst negotiator I’ve ever seen

These prices seem so weird to me. Here in finland buying new, properly made replica sword costs 1k+ euros. I can't even imagine buying a historic, good quality sword for same price as in the show.

Unpopular opinion, this guy is a great negotiator. Giving such a specific number made Rick stop to question him. Inadvertently Rick offered more than what he would have had he done his normal lowballing.

I’m still waiting for the clip of a woman selling an item because her husband wanted it gone

Did he just talk HIMSELF down in price? lol

I like it when they give a range than a single number. That makes way more sense as an estimate.

Sean has always been one of my favorites. Sad that he left the show for so long due to History's exclusivity requirement. But glad he returned.

Seller: you see these nicks? That means it was in battle

Rick: Nope. It just means 2 kids found grandpas swords and started fighting each other.

Expert: They're worth 6 grand.
Rick: So how much do you want?
Guy: 3100
Rick: Why only 3100 and why such an oddly specific amount?
Guy: ok, 3 grand, and not a penny less.
Rick: Deal!

He baffles Rick with his lowball offer and for a second Rick had to take a breath and realize the guy was ripping himself off for a change

He wasn't a dictator, he was a Emperor.

He was probably thinking: "Rick can't lowball me if I lowball myself."
