This colour has been named the ugliest in the world. What's the best use for a colour that is universally disliked, and how we can harness that for good?

"It's actually quite a hard color to describe" Well mister I can describe it with only one sentence: It's the colour that I got after mixing all the colours in an attempt to get "rainbow colour" when I was 5 years old

I'm gonna paint my house this color so I don't get robbed.

Thing is. Depending on what the background colour to this colour is, it is perceived uglier or nicer. In the thumbnail there is a outline of lightblue, this makes the colours clash which makes the brown look "uglier". In the video the backround is a light yellow colour which fits better with the brown. Therefore, it doesn't look as bad anymore.

They introduced this color to «snus» in Norway. It backfired insanly hard, as the packaging was viewed as minimalistic and cool. The young generation started buying more due to pantone 448C.

Meanwhile in Norway, the minimalistic packaging with a unified color scheme won a design award.

The color isn’t really ugly, but I laughed when he put the color swatch up next to his head because it’s actually very close to his hair color.

It's a very natural and earthy colour, commonly found on any artist's palette when colour mixing.
Also I think a lot of people would like this colour for it's tactical/military vibe.

the thing about this video that got me the most is that
THE AUSTRALIAN OLIVE ASSOCIATION IS A THING THAT EXISTS AND SENT A CEASE AND DESIST TO NOT NAME A SHITTY COLOUR AFTER AN OLIVE

Me, Looking back and forth between the color and his hair, noticing they are both very similar in hue.

This guy: "It's been called the world's ugliest color—"
Me: "Huh. I kinda like it, actually. Looks like tree bark."
This guy: "It's actually quite a hard color to describe."
Me: "Is something just wrong with my brain?"

When he said "drab green" I thought the next line would be: The Australian Drab Association's CEO sent a cease and desist letter.

This color just makes me think the cigarettes are organic and cruelty free.

everyone should know this color from mixing all the paint colors you could in art class

I'm Australian and a smoker, I wouldn't put the change in colour as the big reason smoking has reduced, it's the insane taxes that are making people quit. The price of cigarettes has gone from $15/25g to $60+/25g during that timeframe

Here's one positive for the color in my brain: I love walking around the North American Pacific Northwest, and I'll stumble upon a lot of moss and bushes growing on rocks and exposed roots. This color reminds me of when I used to find said moss when I'd go hiking. I lived near Seattle at the time, and it brings me fond memories. I definitely wouldn't want any of the wrapping around my takeout to have that color, but I'm definitely considering painting my room with it
