Samsung just released its new Galaxy Watch Ultra, which looks and sounds pretty similar to a certain Apple Watch that I use daily.

The Ultra is not a copycat of the Apple watch, Samsung used that look & design YEARS ago on one of their watches, LONG before the Apple Watch. It was the Samsung Gear Sport. Also Samsung has used the word ultra for quite a while

For those who are saying that the Galaxy watch ultra is a copy of Apple's Watch Ultra, search the Samsung Gear Sport. It looks exactly like that. If anything, it looks more like a Panerai Radiomir. The orange band and the button are from Garmin, but the button being orang is from Apple, though.

Does it REALLY matter that Samsung has a watch vaguely similar to the Apple watch, when neither of these are compatible with each other's operating systems? It's faux outrage.
The Watch Ultra may have a similar watch band, but it has a ROUND face on a square body! Unless you think Apple has exclusive rights to geometric shapes now?? Bedsides Samsung brought out the Gear S way before Apple brought out their watches. If we are going to argue over shapes then we'll say Apple must have been inspired by that!

This is almost like politics. People only see what they want to see so they have a case for an argument. Watches come in three shapes. Circle traditional, square, rectangle. Let's remember that Samsung's first watches were rectangular. Apples ultra wash is a rectangle. With a rectangular face. Samsung's watch is a square with the same circular face that they've been using for years. These watches in no way whatsoever look alike. In absolutely no way. Let's also understand that orange is the international color. How many different features do you think each one of these watches will have? They literally all have the same general function. Let's also add that Samsung doesn't have a rotating button though because it spins around I think there will be some functionality apply to that eventually. There's also offer sleep apnea and the energy settings neither of which Apple has. I literally feel like this is a guy thing because you never hear women going on about this kind of dumb crap. As a graphic designer for the last 30 years I went through the Mac versus PC nonsense when we were all using the same software and producing the same work. Let's also remember that if Apple was so independent they'd be making their own screens instead of contracting Samsung to make their parts. They're different platforms and there's only but so many things a watch is going to do and so much you can get out of a wash and everybody out there is going to try to do the same thing so what's the big freaking deal? As a female I swear I have an Android phone and watch5 pro, while waiting delivery for my $285 Samsung ultra watch. Yes $285 with my watch5 pro trade in. By the way I also have a Samsung ultra 21 5G. Yes ultra a word that Samsung has been using for years now!!!!

Guys stop the nonsense, get a life, whatever platform you're on go with that and let's just watch some videos and be appreciative that we have two powerhouse companies battling it out and innovating. Put it back in your pants!!!

Apple user here, the Samsung Galaxy Watch smashes the AWU in looks alone. I hope the AWX is next level this year.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra isn't rated for diving. 100m water resistant is good for snorkelling at most. Do a quick google search on what 100m Water Resistant actually means. On the other hand, the Apple Watch Ultra is rated to 100m WR & 40m for recreational diving and also has a depth sensor and water temperature sensor so it can be used for actual diving without issue.

AWU can be hard to read all the small text I found, whereas the Samsung looks far easier to read and get to the data faster 😊 surprising look similiar in watch sizes

Wow! Samsung Ultra looks awesome.
Samsung Ultra looks more rugged than the Apple Ultra.
The display on the Samsung Ultra looks so crisp and clear.
In the dark the Samsung Ultra is so bright compared to the Apple Ultra which is very dim, hard to see.
Samsungs first smartwatch they released back in 2013 was square, then Apple released their square watch in 2015 copycats.
Samsungs new design round with square looks so nice.
Both watches look nice. Samsung is the winner for sure.

both are good but i have the first apple ultra, thats it for me and i did but a cheap watch casio in santo domingo 2018 and what gets me is the battery is still kicking yet with these watches we have to charge them, it goes to show you not everything shines
