In this video I have designed a PWM motor speed controller for DC motors. The circuit is based on NE555 timer IC. The IC is used in Astable Multivibrator configuration to generate a PWM signal whose duty cycle will be controlled by a potentiometer. Moreover, this video also demonstrate the concept of a freewheeling diode and how to use it.

Yes I learned what I needed to know, thanks. It really helped that you didn't edit out your failure, instead you showed how you diagnosed it then solved it. I have found that my failures are often my best teachers.better yet you're failure was a exalent teacher.

You have saved me so much frustration! I am so glad that I didn't try making my pwm circuit before I saw your video.

Thats cool how the back the board solered all the joins together. Neat and tindy didnt know could do that. Also that is can be a light dimmer, now im going to see if i can find a kit to dim my lights as well as slow my dc gear oil pump motor.

OMG, he did one of the best good looking solder i have ever seen.

This is great! Thanks for showing how you problem solved this. :)

Good vid. The actual live oscilloscope view showed us definitively what's going on too.

Excellent!!! You are a professional, but I am wondering why you didn't use a IC base on GP pcb so that you can easily replace the IC, whenever required.

What would I have to do, in order to get 15kHz, instead of just 10kHz ??? What would I have to do, in order to get 20v output, instead of just 12V (Amps are irrelevant, 0, 1A output would be enough, instead of 10A as in your case) ??? Must I simply change the source for a 20V-source???
All I need to do, is to drive an igbt, instead of your mosfet (needs 20V, but needs nearly no current at all, to be driven).
Otherwise, well done video, and thanks for any answer !!!

What can be installed as a replacement transistor for IRFZ44N ??
I thinking about the IRF630 !
What do you think???

Can you make the same circuit with forward reverse for 775 motor

Whoo I am glad I found your video. I am trying to make one too to control a power mosfet irlb3034 for a vape device and 100nf ceramic cap to produce a lower frequency. The problem is, it doesn't change the power. It always is on 100% power. Do you have any idea as to why?

@Aatik's lab awesome video! Definitely useful for me and answered a lot of questions. A noob question though. If I'd want to get 24V 10A to a DC motor (instead of 12V 10A), what would I have to change (apart from the power source of course)? Which components I'd have to change in order not to fry them with higher voltage? I guess the schematic would be the same, I'd just need to place tougher components?

Thanks you sir plz tell me
What is your soldering station brand ?

..do I correctly deduct, that I would need to use a diode for any DC motor?
And what type of amperage rating?
Thank you, for this learning!

Thank you for the video, I have one question though, how can I upgrade the circuit to accommodate a 500 watt spindle?

Can the circuit work with 10 IRFZ44 parallel connections to increase the control amperage?

I have a brushless motor and I wanted to make a controller like yours but the motor I have works with sensors. You have a Tutorial where you can make a 48v 40A controller
