The group initially formed as a doom orientated quintet during 1992. The trio (vocalist/bassist Azazel, guitarist Necrentus and drummer Sibbanac) recorded two 1993 demos and would claim their 1993 graveyard photo shoot, marking them as the first British black metal band to wear corpse paint.
