Purvis, Taylor NURS 3532 Chest Tube Dressing Change, A01

1. I did not remove my clean gloves before using the forceps to remove the jelonet, but I did not touch the jelonet, skin or sterile field with these gloves and the forceps were discarded after use so I did not break any sterility.

2. I did not wash my hands immediately prior to opening my sterile field but washed them at the beginning of the skill and before adding things to the field. I only touched the outer 2 inch border so did not break sterility.

3. I did remove 2 drainage gauze, 2 4x4s and mefix from the chest tube it all just came off at once, just to clarify so you don’t think I was making it easier for myself.
