Hundreds of fires continued to spread across parts of Alberta over the weekend, and the weather may not cooperate as the week goes on. The Weather Network's Saphia Khambalia has more.

Lightening strikes several places at once during a large storm. Lightening strikes
an average of 28 times per minute and storms can last for many hours up to10 hours. Which is about 40, 000 lighting strikes in one storm.

I wonder if we will ever again have a year go by when we don't see devastating, record breaking weather in virtually every area of the world. As an old person, I can assure you that it hasnt always been like this. Record breaking weather used to be something we saw on the nightly news. Rarely did we actually experience it ourselves.
For instance, during my entire childhood, our area reached 40°C for a few hours once, and we talked about that day for years. I still remember most of that day clearly all these decades later.
Now I have two air conditioner units in my home because we experience that sort of heat several times each summer for days on end.

The US should rent Canada some of their firefighting aircraft...for about double the price Canada gouged the US to rent their firefighting aircraft when the US had wildfires.
