I'm a big vintage fan, so I search thrift stores and yard sales for beautiful old vintage tins and containers to put my sewing tools in. Not only are they practical but they look great on my shelves.

Great video - thank you! Two things I find handy: coffee mug tree (found at a discount store) to hang all my scissors; small lazy Susan (again, discount store find) - about 8” diameter, upon which I have small dollar tree containers with needles, thread caps, and other oft-used bits, right by the machine. I can spin and grab without having to reach around and knock stuff off. Hope these are useful tips☺️

I had a large floor jewelry box. It is perfect for all my thread.

I have a 1 bedroom apartment and I have a sewing corner in my bedroom... I made it look nice and I love it. Not everyone can have a whole room for sewing. I'm so blessed to have what I have and I'm so happy with the way it came out.

Ah, The Classic Coffee Can! I have one with my scissors on my ironing board. I also use a lot of little plastic containers that stuff from the grocery stores come in. Yogurt cups for my clips (which I use all the time). Thanks for the ideas.

Don't have a peg board or space to put one (I'm in front of a window) so I use a coffee mug stand for my scissors next to my machine. Also I hung a small command hook on the side of my machine for my very small scissors, holds two.

Good ideas. For my needles I took a magnetic cosmetic tray with separate little compartments labeled them this is where I keep all my machine needles; universal, heavy weight woven, heavy weight knits, etc. to keep track of what I have in the machine I have a pin with a flag on it that represents what’s in the machine. Whatever I take out of the machine goes back where the flag is.
I also use a magnetic strip on the wall for all my little tools like screwdrivers oil can, etc.

Hi... Years ago I added pegboard to the inside of my storage cupboards... Including the ones I have under my sewing desks, that roll out as needed, 2 have pressing stations on top, 1 has a cutting mat on top

Love your sewing space. I live in an apartment which has 2 bedrms, living room, bath, kitchen. I have my sewing space set up in the living room in a corner. My husband has the second bedroom for all his crafts. Was wondering do you have a piece of felt or foam on the bottom of your coffee can to protect your scissors? Keep up with the great videos and great ideas.

I like all of your plastic organizers with compartments for small items, but where & how do you store the organizers? Do they sit on a shelf? In a drawer?

Hello
Im trying to design a organized sewing area. I have a 4 ft desk with 2 deep side drawers and two small on top edge of desk. And a 4 ft dining table up on bed risers to make it taller for cutting. I just purchased a 2×4 pegboard. As i stare all supplies i have no idea how to put it together any ideas

I love thread boards but I don’t want my thread to get dusty so I use a covered storage box.
