One thing I did not mention, which I definitely should have, is that the Ver y Creer interview that I shared was posted to YouTube only 2 months ago, meaning that I am sure it was filmed some time in 2023. All of this stuff with Julia Kim has been known since the early 2000s, meaning that, for ~20 years, Dr Castanon Gomez has been ignoring all evidence to the contrary in order to preserve his belief in the "miracles" of Julia Kim.

When Kim was mentioned, I instantly knew that this would be a problem for Castanon, since the claims & teachings surrounding Kim are very theologically questionable and have been condemned by the Church. That's not a case to support if you want to be trustworthy in these contexts. Also the mentioning of the Eucharist turning into flesh & blood in her mouth reminded me of a more contemporary American priest seer who claimed this happened to him once, namely Fr Jim Blount. There's actually a compilation I made a few months ago of various...questionable things he says, which you can chek out if you want; I think you will find the comp interesting!

Genuine or not, these bloody and fleshy sort of miracles have a strange relationship to the Church’s official teaching. Isn’t the consecrated Eucharist the whole, living Jesus, and not some static piece of his body? I’m pretty sure Aquinas addressed this at some point. There were similar miracles in his day, and he says these miracles are only accident-deep or something, like they’re superficial to the REAL miracle.

I think one of the problems with "eucharistic miracles" is that a lot of catholic apologists simply believe in it too easily. They read a statement from another catholic apologist promoting EM, they believe it, they repeat it. I have seen it multiple times. I don't think these apologists are dishonnest, but they do not have the necessary prudence and perspective in the face of such extraordinary proclamations.
I think they don't have the knowledge to assess the quality of the science behind these statements, and that their catholic bias doesn't make them want to dig too deep anyway.

Great video! I once start looking into Ricardo Castanon too, and was able to download one of his books mainly to look for the "scientific reports" he mentioned in a video that he had in the appendix of the book. Nonetheless some of this reports were concerning.

Akin "I think there's evidence that some eucharistic miracles are probably genuine...but I haven't studied any of the cases in the kind of detail that I can determine any one case is authentic." Some snake oil salesmen make bold claims. Others are adept at equivocation.

Dude please add spanish subtitles, I guess you are quite proficient in spanish or know someone who is but if you need help I can volunteer (I'm not professional but spanish is my mother tongue)
My mother sends me videos of this crazy man and even though I respect her faith I wouldn't like her to go to conspiracy theories beginning with stuff like this.
