I saw "test" in the title and got excited that someone was actually going to test the counterfit vs the fake for once... Oh well, time to move on.

All those people, who are writing that the board on the left is not a fake but just an unofficial version, are wrong. The board on the left uses the same logo as the original, which is not allowed by Arduino's licence. If the fake board was called "SHITduino" or something else, then it would fine. But using Arduino's logo by other companies isn't allowed.

You forgot to mention the main chip. Real ones appear to have the better quality ATMEGA32, that other one was not branded.

I would not call this "a test"!!!

I assume no-one cares as long as they're both working like they should.
That's what should have been tested (as the title of the video implies).

Disappointing - I was expecting a test. All this was was an advertisement for Arduinos from Arduino.

There exists no "fake" or "original" arduino boards.
Everyone is able the produce these boards as they are open platform.
You can even download the pcb designs and produce one arduino board yourself.
As long as there is no technical/compatibility problem there is no issue.
Until now I have bought some "original" boards and some "fake" boards and they all work 100% as it should be.

Hmm, was expecting a real test, not a sales promotion. #fail

In which part of this video do you carry out the test? Sorry but I cannot find it.

I have quite a few fake/counterfeit and clones and have had no issues with them so far.
Where was the test of them? Are there any performance issues with fakes or clones?

so what are the pro's and con's apart from components? One can get a PCB and solder the components themselves, but if it works out the same. One could play with the "copy/clone" and finalized on a the genuine article. I don't disagree with supporting Arduino at all, but it is open sourced.

Although fake ones have 16MHz clock. But it still cannot take input of delay of 10s of microseconds. But originals do a lot better.

When the design is published as open-source, even down to the PC board files, and people encouraged to make them, how can any of them be called "fake?"
Even the Arduino community was, until recently, divided into two camps, both claiming to be the legitimate provider.
I've bought genuine Arduino boards and supported the designers, and yeah, some of the cheapest clones are crap too, but there are very good quality ones available in the middle and there is no reason to not take advantage of them.

it is much difficult to spot fake one
since it is open source hardware
but I suggest to buy it from its official website

It does not matter if it is fake or not as long as it works perfectly well. You're just being genius.

A ton of the fake arduino's or even legal open source replicas, are either completely missing the polyfuse, or have a wrong one.

There is no fake or real arduino because it's an open hardware.

question, do they both use the same atmega328p chip? or one is also remanufactured?
