Interestingly enough, when it comes to the album versions, I prefer 'For whom the bell tolls' over 'Hells Bells', but when it comes to the live versions, it’s the other way around. And it comes down to the simple fact that Metallica doesn’t actually use a bell sound in the beginning when they play it live
