Well. If my 10 years of sim racing have taught me something is that for a consistent and sucessful race you need two things only : Patience and Pace. Unless you´re in a drag race, these two things will help you to be always at front. Practice a track until you have it on your muscular memory. 100 laps in a track is mandatory.

Also, people think setups does miracles. They drive 10 laps in track and goes to the setup screen hoping for a miracle setting to give then 0.5 seconds down the time table. This is not gonna happen. Go back to the track and drive, until you absolutely can´t shave anything else from your times, and at least can do consistently 7 or 10 laps at the same pace. Then, just then you go back to pit an try to tweak your car.

Pole position is awesome, but it´s over estimated. The pressure is always on P1. Use that in your advantage if you´re P2, and don´t try to win the race on the first corner.

And finally. Practice is everything. Some people practice more, and have more time than you do, and they will suceed more. But don´t let this keeping you from having fun online. Offcourse, we all wanna win races and be at the top of the podium. But racing is much more, you can still enjoy a good race being in the middle field, battling for positions, defending, overtaking. But this is personal, i know. Some people don´t have fun if they don´t win. It´s sad. I wish they could.

I said finally but there´s on more tip: If you don´t earn money with race sims, it´s a hobby. It´s supposed to be fun and relaxing. Don´t lose your shit online.

Really useful info:) A video suggestion for the future: How to practice efficiently (for the ones that have limited time)?

Useful info, but for new people I would recommend to concentrate more on learning the track, lines and overall control on the car rather than pace - especially if we talking about race. Remember that you can gain more when being a bit slower, but doing consistent laps, than when pushing too hard, hot lapping, destroying tyres or going off the track. You can easily destroy tyres by one spin and you will loose much more time because of that (spin and then lack of the grip around the track). As you said - it's complex stuff and everybody can struggle in different aspect of simracing :)

@Jardier is not only very fast, he is ridiculously consistant. Great simracer to follow and learn from.

Jardier has to be my favorite sim racer. He is always super positive and funny but makes awesome track guides. Of course, he looks super relaxed putting in times 5 sec faster than me but oh well 🤣

yeah, Jardier, would LOVE to see ANY tutorials you may give us. I'm just getting into ACC, and love it, but find the setup process to be quite daunting.

You touch on a few aspects here (TC and ABS), but a tutorial on basic setups (are the standard 'Basic' and
Aggressive' good enough for beginners?) would be awesome.

Would also like to see more of your streams when you race Emree. She's a fellow Aussie :-)

When it comes to pit stops on iRacing, I always pit before we approach a group of backmarkers, especially at tracks hard to get by them like Bathurst. If I feel like I'm faster than the person I'm battling against AND feel like I could lose even just a half a second from a backmarker, I'll pit early. Pulled this so many times at Bathurst, and each time I came out ahead by 2-3 seconds.

Great video Jardier.
You are quickly becoming my favorite streamer. Especially in sim-racing.
As a new sim-racer, I'm looking to improve where I can to get up to the laptimes you guys are doing. And these videos help guys like me.
Keep up with the good work!
Piece out from South Africa.

I shaved off about 7 tenths at watkins glen by moving my 27inch monitor closer to my wheel. It helps to see more of the corner.

Yesterday i did 200laps on zolder with a M4 to learn on my first day
Today i am using the F488 (80laps in races), i like that car more and still shaving on my times.

Turn off the assist “stability control”. Been a year as to why I’m so slow, then found that option and since turning that off my lap times increased but 2 seconds straight away

My 5 tips. Cutting the insides of course. Older f1 games you don't do this, config steering wheel properly this stops over heating tyres, move breaking balance backwards, lowering tyre pressure

Definitely need a braking tutorial, super new to acc, just bought a wheel and really struggling with squirrelling a lot under braking and I think I’m locking rears as I spin a lot especially at imola as I’m braking while turning?

I struggle with TC. I mainly use the AMG. I’m committed to getting good in this car.

I would be faster probably if my G29 shifter paddles would shift properly. I know the cars have limits to shifting but I have played with it and it is definitely the down shift paddle that is causing problems. So, I ordered the Moza R5 package along with the brake mod and clutch pedal. If nothing else, I will verify if it is my fault or that paddle shifter. But either way it will be a good upgrade with direct drive wheel.
