A LOVE SONG Interview - Wes Studi on the film's stillness, his youth & 'Heat 2'

Fresh Fiction and Denton Record-Chronicle reporter Preston Barta sat down (virtually) with legendary actor #WesStudi to discuss his latest film #ALoveSong.

This is a still film that paints so many rich colors and words with its poetic exploration of connection and loneliness. It takes place at a remote campground in the Colorado Rockies where two childhood friends — Faye (Dale Dickey) and Lito (Wes Studi) — both long-widowed, spend the day together. They catch crawdads, birdwatch, and gaze at the starry night sky while conversing about their memories and the fog that clouds over their lives.

It’s a very moving work, and it was wonderful to catch up with Mr. Studi about it. In our above interview, we discuss the film’s stillness and how it causes you to look into the rearview. We also felt compelled to ask about #Heat2.
