Five years ago, Hackney Council bought the Tesco site in 55 Morning Lane for £60 million. This video explains their plans for the site and our campaign to get a development that Hackney residents want and need. This redevelopment is a huge opportunity to create something for the people of Hackney not more profit for private developers.

We are having a public meeting on 31st March 7.30-9.30pm in Nisbet Community Hall on Nisbet Estate off Homerton High Street. This will discuss what Hackney residents want to see on the Tesco site and how we can put pressure on the Council to achieve a development for people not profit.

Let's hope Hackney Council work with MOPS to create a people's plan for Hackney Central.

I read the company that develpoed the fashion hub (the arches in Morning Lane) were going to be the main contractors. Look how successful that has been!
