Two years ago I lost my wife to a brain aneurysm. She was 49 and had only a few weeks to head for her 50th. We were married 26 years and people said we were made for each other. Whenever I listen to this song it brings me to tears as memories become overwhelming. Yet though I still find comfort in it. It´s crazy.

I just lost my husband to CHF a week and a half ago just when we were getting ready to move in our tiny house and become homesteaders We are never promised tomorrow so make sure you love your spouse with all your heart and walk with God daily! I love this man dearly but I have hope that I will see him again.

I realize this song was written for a broken heart after a failed relationship, but when I hear the chorus I can’t help but think of my best friend who died when he was only 10 years old, and how it left me alone for many years without a friend and nothing but thoughts of where he might be, and what he might be doing if he were alive today

In 1978, my dad passed away of a heart attack. He was only 44 years old. A few months later mom and I were in the kitchen, this song came on the radio. We both broke down bawling like babies. We had no insurance on my dad, so living was hand to mouth. It made things soo very difficult. There were 3 other siblings at home too. Hard times for sure.

Had not heard this song in 30 plus years. Then two weeks after my husband died, leaving me with three kids under the age of seven, I heard this song at the mall. Truer words were never spoken.

My brother met Randy in 1985. He found out where he lived while he was visiting our sister in California (a little stalky, I know. LOL.) But Randy was happy to meet him. He said Randy was a great person who was caring for his physically challenged younger brother who was living with him at the time. He said Randy lived in a modest house and had only a box spring and mattress on the floor for a bed. He said Randy told him the residuals from Just When I Needed You Most is what he was living on... but he still took care of his brother. Wish I could have met him too. He sounds like he was a great man. R.I.P. Randy.

I never get tired of listening to this beautiful, mystical, superbly-arranged ‘masterpiece’ by such a uniquely talented performer.

At 15, three years after the death of his father in an automobile accident, Randy moved with his mother to Cornwall, England. That experience inspired "Just When I Needed You Most." The guy understood deep loss and as sappy as this song might be to some folks...its deeply heart felt and sincere. Something missing in a great deal of today's music.

I had this song on replay in 1979 when my husband left me and our beautiful 2 year old daughter for a woman with 5 kids. Listening to it all these years later still makes me cry, sometimes time doesn't heal!

A timeless classic. It could not have been written or performed any better.

No one can sing this song like Randy Van Warmer, I could listen to this all day. A haunting melody and lyrics. Gone too soon.
