NEW Airbus A350 Engine Upgrade Is THE END Of Boeing! Here's Why
Airbus continues to SURPRISE its fans with GROUNDBREAKING innovations! Renowned for its proactive approach to customer feedback, the airline giant has unveiled a GAME-CHANGER upgrade to its immensely popular A350, a model that has already achieved over 1,300 sales. This revolutionary enhancement to the Trent XWB 84 engine is set to make WAVES across the aviation industry, significantly affect both airlines and Airbus’s RIVALS.
What exactly are these game-changing upgrades and how will they reshape the future of aviation? Dive into today's episode to discover the answers!
NEW Airbus A350 Engine Upgrade Is THE END Of Boeing! Here's Why
00:39 Technological Advances and Improvements
In recent years, Airbus has achieved remarkable success in expanding its market share, initially aiming to compete with Boeing in the aviation industry, but quickly rising to become the leading aircraft manufacturer in the world. Recently, Airbus has continued to affirm its strategy of prioritizing passenger experience and operational efficiency by upgrading the A350.
Simon Burr, the Director of Engineering, Technology, and Safety at Rolls-Royce, emphasized the company’s continued focus on optimizing the fuel performance of its Trent XWB 84 engine, already a significant success in its current iteration. At the Singapore Airshow in 2016, Rolls-Royce introduced the Enhanced Performance (EP) variant of the Trent 84 engine, with Singapore Airlines being the first to place an order. This new variant draws heavily on technological advances from the more powerful XWB 97 engine, used on the Airbus A350 1000, and lessons learned from advanced testing. The goal of the EP model is to boost fuel efficiency by up to 1% while also cutting carbon dioxide emissions, making it more environmentally friendly than the standard XWB 84 engines.
NEW Airbus A350 Engine Upgrade Is THE END Of Boeing! Here's Why
One of the key improvements in the EP variant is the use of newly developed turbine discs crafted from Rolls-Royce’s proprietary super-alloy, branded RR 1073. Initially designed for the UltraFan engine program, this material is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 50 Kelvin higher than the current RR 1000 alloy, allowing for a more predictable and extended service life. Additionally, Rolls-Royce has revamped the high-pressure turbine blade cooling system, redistributing airflow more effectively to dramatically lower operating temperatures, thus enhancing the engine’s longevity and performance. Production of these advanced turbine discs is already underway, with plans to incorporate them into both the XWB 84 and XWB 97 engines shortly.

Risk does not drive innovation, competition drives innovation.

GE make the best engines in the industry and they need to be on wide body Airbus aircraft.

Basically a commercial for Airbus. YT should charge for it. Don't write off Boeing just yet.

Airbus puts a portion of profits toward research & development. Unlike Boeing that likes to fatten their shareholders profits! Instead of advancing their technology they take short cuts & re badge 60 yr old 737's

XWB 97k needs be 105k then it will be much better. As it is needed in MID EAST where sand dust humidity and hot air make engines burn out, quicker. The engines need more off time, which means no flights. It needs be more on time. That is Emirates biggest worry. So improvements on wing time is more important, more power is needed for xwb 97k, need be 105k

cant sell the 1000 because who wants different engines on different 350 models.

I hope the LP turbines are in the same positions as the previous engine it is replacing or it will be nogo or it will cost Airbus to modify the Fuel System.

A lot of words but not a lot of content. This article is just fluff. Move along. Nothing to see here.

FYI: Boeing planes can be ordered with the engine choices of : Pratt and Whitney, GE and Rolls Royce. So the Rolls engine is not a Boeing killer.

The new AIRBUS A350 engine upgrade is the end of the BOEING ? Hmmm.... I wish Garuda Indonesia can use AIRBUS A350 over it's BOEING 777 for the longest haul flight route including European route, African route and South/North American route for the future later on 2045 year if it is can.

So emirates could buy the A350-1000 if the upgraded Trent 97 actually occurs?

A350 1000 will sell much more, its sibling is better fit so people buy 900 which is the right spot. A350 900. But upgrades will make A350 1000 a much better and much more improved plane. which will sell. Maybe they need build A350 2000 hmmm

Why would an airframe manufacturer be ended by an engine manufacturer? Stop with the clickbait titles.
