My grandma passed away recently and she was my world. We used to listen to Irish music every St Patrick’s day and we would always listen to this one. I always promised her when I get married and prepare to walk down the isle, this song will play. She told me she would be a crying mess lol. Even though she is gone but in my heart and soul, I will play this for her on that special day ❤️. I love you grandma

I'm 67 and as a young boy immigrated to newzealand from carrickfergus, even though I left Ireland. Ireland never left me, strange and beautiful as you find the tears roll down your cheeks .

I first heard this song as a foreign student in California. My landlady was playing it in the living room and I came out of my room to listen to it. She graciously lent me the CD. I miss home whenever I hear it.
