There has been a real minimalist trend in graphic novels lately. I feel like it started with Saga and continued to make its way through other series. Basically no detailed backgrounds, so a loss of sense of place. I usually love this author's work (was thrilled earlier that my hold on her newest Simon Snow book was finally up to me!) so maybe this one will be another library read. She has such a wonderful author's voice that I know just from your review that it will be lost in a graphic novel. As always, loved listening to your thoughts!

As someone who started reading graphic novels literally this year, I loved it! It will probably be a fall reread for me every year since it’s such a quick, charming read. I have read maybe a couple handfuls of graphic novels thus far so I don’t have much experience with them to form a solid opinion quite yet. I do agree it would make for the perfect novella instead though.
