Fans, Players in University of Iowa Stadium Turn to Wave at Kids in Hospital

One gesture brings together tens of thousands of football fans each week and is known as “The Wave.” It happens at every home game at the University of Iowa right after the first quarter. Everyone in the stadium, more than 70,000 people, turns and waves up to the kids at The Stead Family Children's Hospital that overlooks the stadium. Many of the kids are fighting for their lives, and “The Wave” is a way to pick up their spirits. #InsideEdition

The best college football tradition ever. It's not even close. Just became aware of it today. I don't care if Iowa ever wins another game. Their university, their program, their fans and their players will always be champions in my book.<wiping tears from my eyes>. I am a huge Badger fan from southwest Wisc. A big fan of "jump around" that takes place at the end of the 3rd quarter at Camp Randall in Madison. But what takes place at Kinnick Stadium with the players, coaches and fans all waving to the sick children and their families is absolutely the most amazing thing I have ever witnesses at a sporting event. Period. Way to go Iowa!!!
