Показать описание
A scene from HBO's new miniseries "Chernobyl" Episode 2: Please Remain Calm. I have included the Korean translation, which was done by myself. I do not own any of the footage. All credit's go to HBO, The creator Craig Mazin, and the cast crew.

In April 1986, an explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics becomes one of the world's worst man-made catastrophes.

Creator: Craig Mazin Stars: Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgård, Jessie Buckley

It's almost like they're not even acting, just feeling the moment in character... what a scene, what a show!

"If you fly over that building you'll be dead within a week!"

Pilot: "I can beat that."

“A minor rotor malfunction; not good, but not terrible”

This crash actually happened in the way depicted but not for a few weeks later, initial drops were done "safely" but one helicopter was lost with crew due to hitting crane cables.

I like this scene because it shows how Scherbina is starting to trust and respect Legasov's words and directions.

Im so glad they didnt add any explosion or unnecessary special effects, the fact that none of this is needed to empower this scene is just another proof that the showrunners did a awesome job here.

Tbh at first I thought the helicopter blades disintegrated or something, only later I saw it hit the crane.

At 2:05 when Scherbina said: "Send the next one in." I felt that.

The way the helicopter breaks apart looks just like it did in real life, theres a vid on YouTube.

*“If you fly over the core, you would be begging for that bullet by tomorrow morning...”*

The look of pure hopelessness on Legasovs face when he shakes his head no is intense.

The helicopter crashed on October 2, 1986. The crew of 4 people died - the commander of the 1st class pilot, captain Vorobiev V.K. (1956), the navigator of the station. Lieutenant A. Yundkind, E. (1958), a flight engineer for the armament of Art. Lieutenant A.I. Khristich, (1953) and an armament specialist, Senior Ensign N.Ganzhuk. The crew was assigned to the helicopter unit stationed in Chisinau. The preliminary cause of the catastrophe is the blinding rays of the sun from the crew commander.

I love his transition from "Oooh thinks he's SO special, studying radiation and all that..."
to "hey Mr. Radiology guy, what can I do for ya?"

“Is there any other way?”
The absolute look of someone begging for even a hint of hope

The acting here is SO Powerful.
“Is there any other option, Legasov?”
That moment when Legasov looks at Boris...and his eyes say everything.
“I’m so sorry Boris...I wish there was another way...Believe me, I do...”.
And then Boris, 100% bares that responsibility, and steels himself, as he says “Send in the next one.”

There was a Real Footage of the Mi-8 Rotorblades hit the Crane. The footage was never released to the Public. Till it was Found.

Those men deserved better.
