In 1776 a small one-man submersive called the Turtle crept its way across New York harbor to attack a British ship as the world’s first wartime submarine around the time of the Battle of Brooklyn, the largest battle of the Revolutionary War. More than 200 years later, local Brooklyn artist Duke Riley would find inspiration in the story of the Turtle and create his own interpretation of the Revolutionary War-era submarine.

So impressive 😲❤️💙
I don’t remember learning about the Turtle during my history courses, but Liberty’s Kids featured its story so I’m researching now 🤓

That is a remarkable replica and actually demonstrating that it works is truly commendable. A piece of living history in view of not having the original. Great job.
