Highlight of the day.

2 mins of Arthur Rubinstein playing Beethoven's "Pathetic" Piano Sonata, 1st Movement.

The "Pathetic", one of my favs.

While on a visit/shoot of the Marguerite Rogers House Museum at Alvin, Texas.

The museum housed a working phonograph. The disc on the turntable was the first movement of Beethoven's "Pathetic" Piano Sonata, performed by the great Arthur Rubinstein. From what I can gather online, this was probably recorded between 1941~47.

The caretaker of the museum Bobbie Case was kind enough to crank up the machine for me to listen to this rare recording as it was meant to.

chills.
