The Mask of Benevolence is a great book for Deaf Culture. Simply providing access to language is not sufficient reasoning for support.
The meaning of the language is just as important as access to it. 
I think a Deaf republican perspective from time to time may provide more empowering thought for the Deaf community.

I'm an independent voter but I've noticed that democrats tend to be more accessible for deaf with interpreters and subtitles.. republicans can do the same.. #votingisnonpartisan
