Mostar, Bosnia - The gem of Southern Bosnia, Mostar has long been an international tourist destination. With its famous bridge and its many mosques, Mostar is known for being a town brimming with traditional architecture and old buildings. Originally built around the bridge for trade purposes, Mostar is today a bustling town filled with incredible things to do. Additionally, just 30 minutes from Mostar lies Blagaj, an incredible town. Here, we visit the fortress at the top and the traditional Dervish House!

It’s crazy because I’m flying to Sarajevo in a couple weeks and I wasn’t familiar with Mostar. A friend just today told me I can’t go to Sarajevo and miss Mostar. Then your video popped up. Perfect timing.

The Blagaj Fortress was built waaay before the Austro-Hungarian empire, some sources say that this fort dates between 948 and 952 (yes, it's that old it's not a typo 😂) It was an important strategic and defensive structure during the medieval Bosnia period. btw I love your videos, you've got a new subscriber 🎉

most of our rivers are clean and drinkable, with similar color like Neretva river. Check out rivers Una, Trebižat, Tara, Drina, Vrbas, etc. Neretva is officially coldest river in the world with average temperature of 7 degrees throughout whole year. Bosnia has more waterfalls than Germany, Italy and France combined. Last jungle in Europe is located in Bosnia. Really lot to see if you like .nature.

Just FYI, the Neretva river is definitely drinkable upstream, but I would highly advise against drinking it from under the bridge because there are some untreated creeks flowing into it from the city. You are risking bacterial infection if you drink it unfiltered from that spot.
