My favourite part is when the bassoon plays. Can't describe it... There's just something exotic, magic, sexy and just that bit more mysterious and darker than the other instruments.

I find it fascinating. This is a great orchestral piece that you can take your time to enjoy for it to build up, instrument by instrument, . I love the ‘heroic romance’ of it all, crescendoing into something that spark celebratory fireworks of emotions at the end!

6:22 Ravel is the small man with the beard and moustache looking over Faure's shoulder. The man in the background with the long beard is a composer who is enjoying something of a revival, one of my favourite composers Charles Koechlin!

Mi limitado inglés me permitió una comprensión parcial. Sería interesante que fuera subtitulado en español

Please say "Conservatoire" when referring to the Paris Conservatoire. Also repertoire, is distinct from repertory. The first refers to music, the second to drama. Conservatory to a British speaker means a glass-fronted house extension where you put plants in winter to stop them dying. Ravel was a fragile, fastidious man. He liked people to respect nuances.

Bolero is actually a pretty boring piece to perform. Ravel had so many other works that were significantly more musical.

Bolero was/is just...popular.
