In my life only two skiers have ever truly shocked and humbled me to witness their skiing in person, and they were both French mogul skiiers from the same small ski town: Edgar Grospiron and Candide here. Edgar in 95 when I was a jr and my team got to train with him pre-World Cup at Blkcomb, we'd never seen anything like him, and 48 hrs afterwards he busted the first ever quad jump at a WC, requiring new scoring rules (after much resistance from the FIS assholes) and setting the stage for the younger mogul skiiers who would go on to invent what we know as modern freeskiing/newschool, like what Candy does here. Got to see him live when he won Xgames pipe (I didnt even know he skiied contest pipe! And i was decades deep in the sport by then) and I seriously shat my mind when I saw him boost. Best all-round skiier of the past decade at LEAST.
