Ray and Rachel's father-daughter relationship is so sweet. You can see in this scene that he loves her more than anything.

The way Robbins' character looks at them from 0:59 to 1:27 is so creepy. It gives you the feeling he might have sinister intentions toward Rachel.

"An empty building looks like an attractive hiding place to straggling yoomans, we're leaving this house standing so that we can poke around for potential fugitives to use as fertilizer once we've finished cultivating and sewing, or as a handy snack later on, thirsty work, this gardening."

The Tripods have a sort, of intimidation factor about them. Even while Tarraforming. I fear that the Tripods would've been able to notice Ray through the dirty window..

my all time favorite movie. still can't believe they haven't done a sequel... it might ruin it... but still...

In the beginning you can still hear helicopters and gunfire which means that the air force like fighter jets and attack helicopters are still trying to stall the tripod at best as they can. But the tripod isn't affected by it at all and decides to just vaporized every civillian they've seen even if the jets and helicopters are only distracting them from preventing to take out the civillians but the tripods doesn't give a damn at all!

I really love when Harlan says if these weren't the first they will keep coming foreshadowing that they'll never give up on earth and that they'll always find a way to colonize it for the survival of their race it is their people lives against humanities but he's wrong it's not an extermination either it's just a endless game of survival between two races like gears of war which is so terribly tragic 😥

This movie was moreso good on the humanity side of its scenes. The family dynamic, dialogue more than the aliens and tripods themselves. I didn't care much for the scenes showing the tripods or aliens. The dialogue scenes are so good in this movie.
