In this video, we will talk about 14 human foods that are toxic to your dog.

Onion and Garlic
There is another reason why you should not share your food with your dog. Humans may love the flavors of garlic and onion to spice up their food, but giving these vegetables to your pet can cause serious health problems. In severe cases, it could even kill your dog.

Garlic and onions contain a harmful substance that can damage your dog’s red blood cells, making them unable to carry oxygen through the body. This is as dangerous as it sounds.

Toxicity can occur whether the products are cooked, fresh, or in a dried, powdered form such as in spices or seasonings.
Think twice before letting your pet snack on breaded onion rings, or lick up the rest of your onion and garlic-based broth from your homemade chicken soup

Chocolate
Chocolate is a delicious treat for humans, but it is toxic to dogs because it contains a substance called theobromine. Humans break down and metabolize theobromine easily, but dogs don't.
Dark chocolate and unsweetened baking chocolate varieties are even more dangerous for dogs because they contain a higher concentration of theobromine. In short, the darker the chocolate, the more toxic it is for a dog.
Although the severity of side effects will depend upon your dog’s size and the amount of chocolate eaten, experts say only 0.3 ounces of concentrated chocolate per pound of body weight can be dangerous to dogs.

Xylitol
Xylitol is an artificial sweetener found in many sugar-free products. It is extremely poisonous to dogs, and can be found in many products such as candies, chewing gums, baked goods, protein bars, toothpaste, and some peanut butters.
Even small amounts of Xylitol can cause low blood sugar levels, seizures, liver failure, or even death in dogs.

So next time your furry friend begs for a spoonful of the peanut butter, make sure to check the label to ensure it doesn't contain xylitol.

Ice cream
Although it may be tempting to share your cone with your furry friend, it’s best to avoid giving ice cream to dogs.

The first problem with ice cream is that some adult dogs are lactose intolerant to varying degrees, which prevents them from properly digesting milk products. So if you feed them milk products, they may experience anything from mild to severe gastrointestinal discomfort – diarrhea, loose stools, vomiting, stomach pain, or gas.

Another problem with ice cream is that it is loaded with sugar, and feeding your dog sugary foods can lead to weight gain and obesity, which can cause a slew of health problems.

Keep in mind that some ice-cream contains toppings or ingredients, such as chocolate and xylitol, that are very toxic to dogs.

Grapes and Raisins.
Dogs should never eat grapes and raisins. These fruits are known to be extremely toxic to dogs. Grape toxicity in dogs can cause serious kidney damage that can lead to sudden kidney failure, which can be fatal.
Grape products such as grape juice, grape jam and even baked goods with raisins should also be avoided. And make sure to keep your breakfast cereals away if they contain these two ingredients.
According to clinical reports, many dogs sadly have died of kidney failure after eating just a few raisins.

Hotdogs
Your four-legged friend would probably love to chow down on a hotdog. But is that a good idea? Many hotdogs contain ingredients that are not good for dogs, such as sugars, artificial sweeteners, or sodium nitrate which has been linked to cancer. Hotdogs also contain seasonings, such as onion powder and garlic, which are toxic to dogs. And the biggest problem with hotdogs is salt. Only one-half of a hotdog would put a dog weighing 33 pounds way over their daily sodium limit.

Bacon
If a drooling mouth, wide eyes, and an intent stare sound familiar, then chances are you have eaten a piece of bacon in front of your dog before.
Unfortunately, ham and bacon aren’t good for dogs.
Bacon is an incredibly fatty food with a high salt content, which can prove to be too much for a dog’s stomach to handle. Ham also has a dangerously high salt content.
In fact, all processed pork meats are unsafe for your dog. These products contain a significant amount of salt and added spices which are bad for your dog's stomach

Apple Seeds
Apple is good for dogs, but keep the seeds far, far away from your precious dog: the seeds contain a small amount of cyanide, a toxin, which can harm your dog in large doses. The tough apple core, and the stem, could also choke your pooch.

Caffeine
Any beverage that contains a hint of caffeine is a big no-no for your dog.
Caffeine over-stimulates a dog’s nervous system. It causes their heart rate to increase to a dangerous level, and their blood pressure skyrocket. It can also cause vomiting, seizures and even death.
Make sure to keep your four-legged friend away from coffee, tea, energy drinks, soda, coffee beans and coffee grounds.
