Sachin is once in a lifetime cricketer. The title "God of Cricket" did not come just like that, Sachin earned it with utmost dedication, hard work and integrity for 24 long years. Me and my father watched many cricket matches together during the 90's and 2000's and we used to literally pray while Sachin was at the crease, such was the kind of hope Sachin gave to us cricket fans. I still remember how people used to gather in massive crowds in front of the TV showrooms while Sachin was batting, his craze, fan following and stardom can never be replicated. There was a time when news papers and television channels survived purely on Sachin's charisma. The way Sachin carried the burden of a billion expectations on his shoulders for such a long time is a testimony of his resilience and determination. I can never forget the day Sachin played his last innings, me and my parents felt as if a part of us came to an end. I stopped watching cricket after Sachin's retirement and my father too has never watched a cricket match again. Today's kids think its an exaggeration but only we Sachin fans know the kind of emotional bonding we developed with Sachin during the course of his illustrious career of 24 years. I mean just imagine my feeling as a 7 year old cricket fan in 1989 after seeing 16 year old Sachin batting for India and then growing old along with him for the next 24 years. It is a very unique feeling which only Sachin fans can relate to. I got married in 2007 and I feel proud that my kids too have watched Sachin bat. I felt like an achievement when I showed Sachin to my kids for the first time. I know I'm getting too emotional but I want to say that I'm truly blessed to be born in Sachin's era and I will cherish those moments till the last breathe of my life. I miss my childhood, I miss the innocent 90's, I miss Sachin's batting and I miss my father.
