I bought pulsar 220 almost 2 years back
Torque
Comfort
And maintenance
It has been out dated for abs and fi
But we got abs now
Legend would always be the legend
No other bike with look and torque has came in the market as till now

Really...then just check my profile I have done 25000 km all India 29 states + Myanmar + Bhutan ride on my Pulser 220 and done almost all the high mountain passes of our country including Mana pass.Although braking is not that good but it all depends on the Rider how he rides and takes care of his machine...Peace.

Don't agree with a few points:
1. Design is not "dated". I've not seen another bike like the 220. Its design is pretty Unique!
2. I think Bajaj should re-touch on the technical aspects of the bike ( like fuel Injection and Liquid Cooling like the RS200), while keeping its physical design same.

Come on, I'm seeing superbikes day in day out and I do ride one too. I never feel P220 is out dated at all. It has an ageless design.

I recently brought a plusar 220f ABS 2019 edition just because its timeless design and that was the bike who started the legecy of over 200 cc motorcycles and one more thing no matter what you said pulsar 220 is still better than the whole market we now get a engine cowl abs etc . I was always a fan boy of pulsar if sagar(from powerdrift) made this review it will be much better he is the true true bike lover.

Its been 4 years now i haven't face any issues, i used it roughly but maintained it on time. About the vibrations need to fix it manually then you won't get vb sound till 130kmph. Please don't judge it too quickly. Pulsar 220 Rockzzzz 😍 😎

Some Reasons to buy P220 over 200NS

1. No hi-tech stuff--> Lesser headache. Can be repaired easily almost in any mechanic shop when breakdown. You will be pissed off if 200NS breaks down in a normal town.
2. For those who hate to service their bike at BAJAJ ASS(huge and unnecessary service costs) and have trusted outside Mechanic. I am saying this because till now i am unable to find much mechanics outside who can service or lay their hands on 200NS.
3. Comfortable pillion seat to hop on and can get down easily for elders when compared to 200NS.
4. Fairing helps to cut down wind blasts while touring. (although it may rattle in high speeds, mechanics have found a way to fix it even). Good straight line stability in higher speed (say100kmph)
5. BS4 model have now contact switches as opposed to Non-contact switches and BCU in earlier---> results in better electricals (200NS have contact type switches right from 2012) and lesser headache.
6. Auto-choke removed--> Now its simple carburettor
7. No Liquid-cooling---> No worry to look at it. Even Apache200 and FZ25 don't have it. Though it aids in better cooling.
8. Definitely lesser service costs than 200NS.
9. Doesn't have to shiftdown frequently which is a big plus when compared to 200NS.
10. You can inspect spark plugs and can even service your carburetor(if you know) and other things by yourselves easily when compared to 200NS.
11. Better alloys. Yes i can say P220 have good alloys but i am not comparing them to 200NS or 200RS(Read RS200 alloy news)

Some reasons to buy 200NS over P220

1. Better Chassis and Mono suspension and corner friendly which are very good deal makers for 200NS.
2. Center stand doesn't scrap unlike P220. (The holder of P220 sliencer can be cut and adjusted so that it can be rectified in P220)
3. Liquid-cooling for better engine cooling.
4. Refined engine (Though i don't know how much is BS4 P220 refined)


i'm neither a owner of P220 nor 200NS :D

Having a pulsar 220 dtsi since 2009...1.dated looks-subjective(infact its design was ahead of its time)
2.build quality-not that bad
3.fairing rattling-yes
4.engine oil leakage-only once in the initial days
5.brakes-very good bite from front discs(dont cry for ABS every now and then & and what type of abs tvs offers for just Rs.3000 is quite understandable)
6.riding position-very good..not as upright as karizma(old competitor) & not as sporty as r15..
7.engine harshness-at higher rpm most single cylinder sohc bikes vibrate.thats not an issue to mention
8.headlight-very good
9.loose switch gear- no not at all you r the first to state that
10.tailight loose- never(except accidental case)
11.why people buy 220 over as200 or ns200- thats the fan following of this bike and it is surely going to continue for a few more years
Dont call me a bajaj fanboy..I know haters will say that...anyways never had a problem with my 220 all these years..maintenance and riding technique are the key factors...But I do feel that first generation of pulsar 220 was superior than the newer generations(thats completely my opinion)..currently own a Ninja 250r for my daily ride...

yes there are some issues but the bike is the original fastest indian . It is still ruling the Indian market. Easily beat your R15 cbr150 your apache200 4v apache rtr 180. This is still a good power machine with a affordable price tag . The hottest performance bike of India . I think you specially hate the 220. Even Ducatis have problem about their services. Do visit a Ducati showroom and you will know that. Yes but still it's a good bike and I am proud owner of it.

Hello from Indonesia, I used P220F since 2013 and I love this bike despite of those oil leakage, brakes and low main stand. But my bike's engine isn't harsh and my tail light hasn't broke, yet.

My friend has a second hand pulsar 220 and it has been with him From two years now. It still it has none of problems you mentioned. I suggest maintain your bike well
