EFFICIENCY | INNOVATION | ZERO EMISSIONS

This is a short video documenting the official launch of the Voltra eCruiser - the first 100% electric underground mining vehicle in Australasia!

In September, the EV World expo in Auckland NZ was host to the launch of the Voltra eCruiser, a 100% electric drive light 4x4 utility vehicle heavily based on the strong and reliable Toyota Landcruiser 70 Series. At the event we had a number of attendees from high profile mining companies in Australia who made valuable contributions to the project.

The 70 Series' heavy duty frame and drivetrain make it the most used light vehicle in mining today, having been proven to survive the longest in these rough environments. The basic design of the Landcruiser makes it the ideal platform for the Voltra eCruiser, the perfect light vehicle for underground mining - strong, reliable and producing zero emissions.

Fantastic and long overdue. That we are inhaling diesel particulate in underground mining of any type in 2018 is just lamentable.
Bravo for this wonderful progress.

I didn’t have a car of my dream before watching this video. Now I have!

The leaf springs look flattened already with no load and presume that is the battery right at the back extending past the leaf spring right in the rear departure angle?
How bout move the battery up just infront of the rear wheel and sneak it under the cab/seat. A slightly higher cab wouldn't be an issue that i can see.

not bad. but as a farmer its a no go when you get 1000 km range and a 5 min full charge off household power use farmers would probably buy it be grate for hunting kangaroos and foxes. as long as its got AC the miner's will be happy.
