The second former East Cleveland police officer who took part in a scheme to steal from residents during traffic stops and searches received a two-year prison sentence Thursday

Willie Sims, 32, officially received his punishment from Judge Michael J. Russo in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Sims previously pleaded guilty to charges of robbery and theft in office after he and his one-time police partner, Alfonzo Cole, pilfered citizens of more than $14,000 while performing their law enforcement duties.

Well of course he "just wants to move forward". Of course. He's a shame and what makes other officers look bad. I'm sorry that happened to all and very sorry that happened to the man who was trying to take care of "family expenses". Two years isn't enough tho.

The news reporter doesn't appear to think there is anything wrong here. To me 2 years is a totally ridiculous sentence why not ask the viewers their opinion. Ask them to phone in if they think the sentence fits the crime.

2 lousy years He should have gotten the max which is 8 years ! He is a criminal and as far as I am concerned committed armed robbery and terrorized his victims. Whether they were doing illegal things themselves or not. Not to mention these are just the crimes he committed that we know about. I can imagine how many other crimes this thug pretending to be a police officer committed. Our judicial system is so screwed up. If a person has a weapon and hurts someone (roughs them up) while committing an act of robbery, they will face second-degree felony charges, which carries two to eight years in jail. He was a policeman and brought disgrace upon the uniform ! Oath of office to be a police officer in Ohio ! do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, the Constitution and Laws of the State of Ohio, the laws and ordinances of the City of Columbus, and the Rules and Regulations of the Department of Public Safety, Division of Police; that I will not affiliate ! Police oath will serve all the people of Cleveland in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner. I will act with integrity and diligence in my role and, to the best of my ability, will execute the duties of my office to ensure that the police are able to cut crime and protect the public.

If he was just a citizen, he would have got 30 years not 30 months.. instead of saying 2 years, because it’s so little time that it sounds better to say 30 months.. disgusting

Although the first man who spoke may have had his hands in illegal activity, he spoke well until he lost his composer near the end. But I get it, he's angry because it does happen and it's across all colors. NOT just a black or white thing. Corruption is corruption, regardless of the race doing it and the victim of it.
