A little about me:
Sean Daniel is a man. A man of simple needs and desires. And the one desire, no, the one NEED, that stands above all is to spread the challenges, joy and intellectual stimulus of music to people of Earth and beyond.
Born on the mean streets of upper middle class suburban Chicago, Sean learned the ways of the world through the dizzying heights of success to the lonesome depths of failure and emerged with the promise of a better tomorrow reflecting in his eyes and fiery passion in his belly.
He plays and teaches guitar on his YouTube channel where he regularly releases original music and projects to the adulation of legions of fans, who often compare him to Chris Pratt and one time Ryan Reynolds. He’s currently in the market for a nice leather jacket.

If there is one guitar I associate with Sean Daniel it's that D'Angelico

Why would anyone talk bad about you? You’re a good dude.

Interesting. For me, it's the strat. I have others and sometimes don't touch the strat for weeks, but it always feels like home (even though I played for over 20 years before breaking down and buying one). Leo got it right a long time ago.

Good advice on chord manipulation...the reinforcement of the middle finger on top of the index in certain positions is a great tip! Thanks Sean!

After many years of suffering through GAS I realised the "one guitar to rule them all" is an HSH hardtail Superstrat

I remember reading that first question and thinking about it all day.
Great video!

It's true though, we can indeed get away with culling our guitar collections, since there is so much overlap in utility...

...so I guess all I need are my Tele, Jazz Bass, Rickenbacker 12 string, SCGC 000-12, Hummingbird 12 string, Dobro resonator, and Berg Classical. Hard to imagine living with only 7 guitars, though!

I picture the Sean Daniel signature as that black Ernie ball one

I understand the 614, because that's the correct answer to this question, but I'm a little bit upset the Albert Lee HH wasn't in the running. In whatever dystopian world this comes up in, I would have to choose my Strat because it's a one off from a family friend and I would never be able to find another as well as it being the best playing electric I have ever played, but it makes me mad that I would have to give up my Les Paul.

Mean question, indeed. I'm someone who should probably choose between one of my two current guitars, because the "dreadnought" requires quite a bit of non-brute force, whereas the little one with the cutaway is probably more delicate than any electric I've ever owned (I've given away quite a few guitars in my lifetime - generally when I go through a phase where I'm "just stuck here forever so what's the point").

I think I like the sound of the one I have to fight better (although if you're really gentle the other one starts sounding better when it's not being clumsily buzzed against the frets). That's the problem. What I chose would depend on what I've been playing more lately. One adapts to a guitar, and there's something to be said for working against imperfections instead of seeking the perfect tool for this bad workman's hands. Better hang onto the both of them, then.

I don't think the St. Vincent is something I would normally go for looks wise, but I think I've been captivated by its quirkiness. They sound great. I'm gonna have to try one out some day

Hey Sean, I just started playing rhythm acoustic guitar for my church. I've only been playing about a year and 3 months. However, I have no idea how to strum for "cut time" or like fast gospel music. Basically, the drums are going super fast and everyone claps fast and I have no idea what my role is. I've looked everywhere and can't find an answer. It makes me feel like acoustic isn't the best instrument for fast songs lol.. Anyway, thanks if you see this!

P.S. I am definitely going to be getting a Strat one day!

Something from Ibanez would absolutely be the guitar that I would need if I could only have one. They truly make amazing products!

IMHO, people should really pay attention to your palm muting style/technique, it's as good as it gets! 4 is really hard... Early 70's Guild D25M, ES335, mid-60's Fender Fretless P-bass and, hmm.. Taylor first year GS Mini that sits by the couch. Honorable mentions to all the Strats, Teles, LesPauls and the room full of acoustics's and odd electrics. I only need 1 more! 8) --gary

Great video Sean. I have a few guitars but no super expensive ones. I am mostly into acoustic and love the fact you speak so highly of both of your Taylor Guitars. Each is very special and very different. It has to be nearly impossible too pick favorites.
Thank you for another interesting and informative video.
I enjoy watching so much!!

I’ve had a Taylor 815 (discontinued Jumbo) for 20 years. 5 years ago, I bought a Martin HD-28 (and have a few other Martins). If I had to pick one acoustic (tough choice), it would be the 28. As for electrics, I have a Fender Am. Performer Telecaster Hum. (Humbucker in the neck). Only electric I need.

Just got home an hour ago with a Eric Johnson signature Strat and it might be THE ONE! Cheers Sean!!

I only have one acoustic and one electric anyways because I like to just stick with one instrument but I'm tempted to get me an ultra strat
