Android and iOS smartphones are the most popular ones around the world. However, many of you look for something more open and better at privacy. If you use Android, you forfeit your privacy. Apple’s iOS is a little better at that – but it’s a walled garden.

I don't know if I would call some of these linux phones, since they are mainly using Android rather then an actual linux distro, such as the pinephone, and the biggest competitors on that list is the pinephone vs the librem 5 since they both have hardware switches, but librem 5 is not fully opensource. Which is why I have no interest in it. The Pinephone / Pinephone Pro, are those of the highest interest from my point of view.

Its amazing how hard this seems to be... I dont have high standards I would say. I want amoled screen and stereo speakers... for the rest I want it fast and reliable. Softwarewise the only app I need is telegram, an email app and and the basics like calendar, notes, music player, ebook reader etc.

Seems impossible to get with a real linux. (I used SailfishOS some years ago - any maybe will again - sad its just supporting the sony midrangers atm :(
For now AOSP seems the only possibility to have this alltogether.

All these phones gonna have a hard time going up, they offer sub $200 phone specs at best. All of them very sub par performance, they perform like these were made decades ago. Seriously OUTDATED specs.
