How to Install Heroes 3 Horn of the Abyss (HOTA) and HD Mod

To install Heroes 3 Horn of the Abyss +on HD Mod on your computer, you need two things:

1. Heroes 3 Complete Edition (Get it on GOG):

Currently trying to install Hota, but I get the same error message written about by a previous commenter. It says it can’t find the complete edition directory, but I installed the complete edition from GOG. Does the GOG Galaxy app mess things up for me or is it okay to install it through their platform?

When you say choose another folder to install heroes complete is where I'm failing. It gives me default choice which doesn't work as you said but I don't know where else to put it. I tried making a desktop folder and putting it there but it didn't work. How do I find the folder you use?

Meh...everything worked, BUT I don't see h3hota.exe file anywhere in my "games" folder. All I get is h3 and h3HD versions from the h3HoMM HD launcher. In other words, H3 complete works perfectly, I just don't see the HOTA version/option. I downloaded from the link in the description twice.

Note that I got my H3 complete from Ubisoft.

Any thoughts?

hey Thx for the tutorial fopr those having problems with it. I managed without it on win 11 to make it works, but I can't seem to have it properly on a 2540 x 1440 res. It diminishes like crazy and yes Im in Full screen. any one got it working on a 1440p setting?
