Thanks for watching this video about the game HIVE. After going back and watching the footage, I realize that both Cristina and I made some mistakes. Cristina could have won the game a whole turn sooner, and she could have caused more problems for me by moving her bee. I foresee for Let’s Play videos with this game in the future…

At about 11:43 during the game, the white grasshopper entered the game next to the black ant. Wasn't that against the first placement rule? The white piece entered and touched black. Or did I miss something (as I often do)? Thanks in advance.

Cool stuff. I've played Hive a few times on BGA but still haven't fully gotten my head around it. I really want to get into it more though, if for no other reason than that it looks really cool on the table!

This was great! Slow explanation and the talk through --- during game play really gave me a clear understanding of how to play.
Wanted to ask. If you manage to get your beetle, on top of your opponents bee, do you automatically win?

How was the bee trapped if it had two sides together that were free? Looks like the bee could slide out sideways.

What if a white queen bee has 4 white pieces surrounding it and two black. Let’s say the black piece was the last to move in next to the white bee. Who wins? Black??
