Chancellor Jeremy Hunt discusses the cost of living crisis, VAT on pet food, income tax for pensioners and Liz Truss's appearance on a "hateful platform".

The chancellor says a future Conservative government "will not increase VAT, income tax or national insurance" but when asked if he would remove VAT from dog food he said he "cannot make a commitment to reduce prices".

Im tired of the tories.
Im surprised at how many little englanders voted for this car crash.
The electorate have enabled enough damage from their government.
We need a Peoples Assembly, NOT multi billionaires running the UK.

Why does burly ask such stupid questions? No government here, Tory or Labour will ever bring in price control. When will these journalists ever grow up?

Get that Hunt to explain these figures. Total UK tax and national insurance income in 2011 was £420 bn, . Allowing for population growth and inflation it should be £600bn, but was £827bn last year. Where's the extra £200bn gone Mr Hunt., not on public services!!

The money is going to Kiev, Tel-Aviv, the arms dealers and the arms industry; unfortunately it's going to be the same if not worse with the Labour in charge.
