I updated my bios but since then, my laptop keeps having a black screen. I tried a hardware test from the UEFI and it showed Short DST: failed. I re-updated bios from usb but it still doesn't work. Do you think it may be linked or was it just a coincidence and I need a hard drive replacement?

I will do my best to assist you.
Type 'msconfig' in Start menu and uncheck HP Support Assistant and other HP related tools from 'Startup'. Now restart. These things won't be running again when you boot up.

@HP Support Dear hp support; I have an hp Probook 450 G5 machine with Seagate hdd (1 TB) installed (do not know model # etc) and running Windows 10 (20H2). For last few days I have been experiencing system freezes, blue screen of death and slow performance. I ran the hp diagnostic extensive test on hdd. The short test is passed, but extensive test shows "warning" only. There is no failure message and any error code etc. What should I do to save my data and hdd. Should I replace hdd? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a hp pavilion sleekbook 14 pc, i put it to sleep to do some other stuff. When i did, I noticed the "HDD" light was orange.(see attached image) I've noticed this before but it only blinked. It was never permanently on. I then came back and shut down the laptop. The light was off. As I started back the laptop, the light came on and was permanently on during useage. I then slept the laptop and left it for an hour or so and came back. The light was still on. This happened when the laptop was both plugged in and unplugged from a power supply. All other lights (mousepad, wifi, mute, charging, powerbutton) work fine.

Has anyone experienced this problem/ have a solution?
