I cannot even fathom making a series about real-life individuals concerning their very private, dark and traumatic experiences, and reacting like THIS when said individuals share that they are upset with how the show portrays THEIR story, trauma, and characterization?

I just do not get it. It shows a complete lack of respect and empathy, like he does not understand the gravity of the story and how impacting it must be to hear that you are being portrayed like this for everyone to see.

It devastated me that his only intentions were to make drama out of a traumatic situation and not giving a care about the brothers, was it a crime? he should’ve gotten consent first. yes, erik would likely be proud of cooper for trying to fit him as best as he could, but not ryan. ryan is a predator who’s using this show as his own twisted fantasy. erik knows the real story, not ryan, so he can’t act like he knows more even though erik’s the one who literally lived through it for many painful years on end. save these 2, erik and lyle deserve freedom.
