I NEVER submerge a knife unless I have to! Do a actual disassembly to maintain it properly, otherwise you could very easily get rust in places you can't see

Submerge the entire knife in soap and water? Yeah you oiled it afterwards, but even if you used compressed air after that (which you didn’t show or mention), you definitely just got water under the scales, around and in the pivot, on the tang of the knife etc.
the best way to clean a knife is using knife cleaners, and even WD40 for the blade or Aegis knife solution, as it dries and leaves a protective barrier on knife and the parts. And if you are gonna lube up the pivot, like washers or bearings, take it apart and do it properly.
For someone like me, I just disregard this, but for a newbie this is horrible info on how to clean a knife.

This video made me itchy. Is this for real blade HQ? I wouldn’t clean a beater knife this way! I hope NOBODY follows this video. Disassemble your knife, clean each part, clean and oil your pivot mechanism, reassemble. Loctite screws if you’re feeling it’s necessary, stay away from the scrub brush!

Maybe I’m ignorant on the subject But one of the last things I would want to do to my knife is submerge it in water Especially a intact folding knife unless you’re planning on taking the whole knife apart and drying it fully and even then seems a bit weird

This is how you end up with a corrosion hiddin spots if not the whole knife, do a proper dis then clean and oil it.

Weird, I disassemble the whole knife. If you're going to be dunking it in soap water, you might as well open it up to make sure you rinse off the soap water from tight spaces like the pivot area.
