Four of the six federal parties (Liberal, NDP, Green and Bloc) actively campaigned against the energy industry in Alberta (and Saskatchewan but not as explicit.) This was not debated to any extent during the 2019 election. The West is expected to continue to contribute at very high levels to the federal treasury but with no support from Ottawa or other provinces. We are alienated from the rest of the country and we are upset by the current relationship.

I am proudly one of the 30% (actually MUCH higher percentage) that is done with Canada. I do despair; I am sad; I am angry. More than those emotions, I am proud of Alberta and hopeful of our indepence. I wore Canada's uniform, swore oaths of allegiance. No more. Mr. Trudeau, you have asked more than we can give. We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, have done so much with so little for so long, we can do anything with nothing. Alberta strong and free.

I think Canada needs to separate from the GTA and Quebec. Then the real Canada can sell them the oil, gas, wheat, beef, etc that they require. I personally am very tired of the Cities making laws that only seem to affect those in the rural areas.

If 30% of Albertans polled would say yes to succession then there’s another silent 10-20% that would vote yes when actually placing the X on the ballot, just because they are Albertan’s first and Canadian’s second. Make no mistake the (current) Federal Liberals would be to blame if this referendum ever happens.

Saskatchewan here and proud of it, a lot due to the way we could always work hand in hand in times of strife. We have Moe you have Kenny, both working hard towards fighting for our rights in the West. I myself am 58yo..I am done, my kids and grand kids are not and after watching this interview I can see a lot more hope. I am a die hard Canadian but by God I will turn to Wexit if I have to. I am willing to give guys like Kenny and Moe a chance to do what they say for a year and then decide. Be happy Alberta because you seem like you have a fighter on your hands with Kenny. Excellent interview full of solutions rather than nebulous witch hunting of what may be rather than working with what is and what we have learned from history.

The Canadian oil industry is seen as one of the most innovative in the world. The Trudeau government has invented racism, sexism and anti-immigration sentiment. Trudeaus mindless virtue signally is nauseating. He is not interested in the needs of Canadians or informed about how we have served and cared for the rest of the world long before he arrived on the political scene. All he had to do was support who we are rather than decide to force us into a make believe utopian future that serves no one.

Boy, can't help but notice that Jason is preparing to come back to Alberta with a small consession and call it a victory.

Fair electoral system would have prevented this crisis from occurring in Canada. Quebec effectiveness is due to their seat count in the federation.

If Alberta is not prepared to separate we are not serious about our problems. If the premier is simply placating to the voters in Alberta than we are spinning our wheels. Separation should not be feared or discounted. We need to get serious about it. Move forward with it and Alberta will find out quickly where we stand with ROC. What we will find is that separation is necessary.

Sadly, Kenny makes all the arguments on why separation is the best option for Alberta, but he refuses to do what is best for the province and proceed with a referendum.

I believe that more than one third of Albertans support Separation, we are so fed up of Ottawa and the abuse this province has gone through. It is like a bad marriage, we HAVE to separate to end the abuse, we have supported financially the rest of Canada and we have gotten nothing in return. Don't you think we are more than capable to be independent and support ourselves, as we have always done it? Don't call it Separatism but Independence!! We don't need Ottawa!

Anti Alberta sentiment during Pierre Trudeau's time. Peter Lougheed was called the " Blue eyed Sheikh " in main stream media.
