This song might be about something completely different, but it reminded of when I first started getting majorly depressed. I didn't want to admit it for some reason, all the signs were there. I wasn't enjoying life. I was losing interest in everything I loved doing. My girlfriend at the time noticed it, but I ignored it still. It got much worse before I finally accepted I needed help and I was dealing with depression. It's been a long road since then.
