Kimbra Live In Los Angeles, 2021.

1. Different Story. 0:09. This song was originally the first single off of the record but was taken off from the final listing. Kimbra did these preview shows to a select few cities. Most of which were at unconventional venues and locations. This location was a small woodworking shop, not to far outside Downtown LA. The band came out before she did, which is why we cheer after.

2. Settle Down. 2:21. As you can see in the photo, there was a square about 15ft x 15ft in which we were to give her a barrier to perform. This was as restrictions were just starting to lift from covid. To attend this event you needed proof of vaccination and to wear a mask the entire time. In it's entirety, there were about 70 people in attendance.

3. The Way We Were. 8:16. In the emails regarding the locations for the events, we were only notified about 36 hours before the event. It was noted that the venue was handicap accessible. It was also stated that you could bring chairs, cushions, or blankets if you so choose. Most of us were sitting before she came out which is why she addressed us to please stand up.

4. Save Me. 15:14. As you might have noticed that the audio is a bit lacking in quality. It was recorded from my phone since we were asked to not take videos. You might hear pops and clicks which should just be audio interference from the equipment. Though there were some points where Kimbra came right up to us dancing around which might add some additional sounds, since my phone was on the floor.

5. Past Love. 19:50. Hearing her reach into the high notes in this track were simply amazing. This being one of my favorites of Her's, it was an absolute joy. There was an issue with her cable or mic stand so her stage hand helped her out. Kimbra adjusted one of her small lights and accidently pointed it to her keyboard player which was blinding him. She fixed it with a good laugh all around.

6. New Habit. 25:22. The main "ooh ooh ooh" seemed to be prerecorded. Even if she was singing over it. Some additional harmonies are played in the background. Note that the drummer had some pads to add to his kit which are MIDI triggers. The slight digital drum sounds appear to be coming from him, with other samples being played by the keyboard player.

7. Replay. 29:07. When the song starts I was standing there thinking this beat is awesome, why isn't anyone clapping? So I started clapping, at which point Kimbra starts cheering me on directly. Being that she's my favorite artist, it was a dream come true. Some people clapped on the down beats while others clapped on the up beats.

8. Personal Space. 35:23. There was some minor feedback issues which my phone doesn't appear to pick up. The claustrophobic mixing of the track was more prominent live. Being that this recording is quite Lo-Fi, it didn't translate well.

9. Love In High Places. 39:29. Notice the lack of bass solo during the interlude. As in the photo it was done via synth bass. At the end of the song you might have noticed a pop because I stopped the first recording to start a second one. For some reason there were more pops on this one. There is also a band introduction.

10. Foolish Thinking. 47:57. On the album, the co-producer Ryan Lott sings a verse. It might sound odd to hear her sing this part alone. Notice how the bass synth guides the rest of the flow while she sings over it.

11. LA Type. 54:49. When I saw Kimbra during her Reimagined tour she couldn't help but smile while saying "while the LA skies are burning". I wonder if she was just as jolly to perform the song for the other cites on this album preview tour. Check out that funky bass line, sweet thang.

12. As You Are. 59:30. As LA Type ends, a transition starts which leans into As You Are. The drums are quite a welcome addition to the overall vibe of the track. It adds a secondary movement to the keys. This track ends with Kimbra walking off before the band, but comes back for the encore. The Song ends at 1:07:00

13. I Don't Wanna Fight. 1:09:07. Did you catch her line before the song starts? "There's a lot of just me reckoning with life forces." She dropped the album title and we were none the wiser. Mind you this was a full year before she told us the title.

P.S. After the show I walked over and grabbed the setlist she was reading from. Upon the paper you will see 3 signatures of the 3 band members. Kimbra went backstage and did not sign anything publicly.

I have kept these files to myself since October of 2021. I respect Kimbra, her bandmates, her manager, and her label. If anyone of them would like for me to remove this video, I will gladly do so.

The video editing software I have isn't very good. I was hoping to do a bit more editing before posting. It took 2 and a half hours just to export this file.
