Why does Nintendo hate Blue Pikmin 😐

Fun fact! Blue Pikmin are actually coded to be more likely to die than other Pikmin in Pikmin 2 specifically. That's because most enemies have a "death cap" on their attacks to make sure that, for example a single bite from a bulborb doesn't kill a full team. If too many Pikmin are in the hit box the first Pikmin to loaded into the level will die first, and when you're in a cave, the blue Pikmin are always the first to load in

Two reasons I can think of:
1. Blue's are the weakest
2. They have mouths that help emote the Pikmin's distress in advertising. Any other pikmin in the position of promoting the dangers in the world would only 👀.

To be fair, Blue Pikmin are the only ones I can't 'accidentally' drown in water.

Maybe all of that was to hint at the fact that Blue Pikmin are more used to swimming rather than walking and running

Blue Pikmin always have that look, which is probably why they're used for that. They were designed to look distressed, so they work best in those situations.

I think its cuz they have that terrified looking face with the open mouth so they look like something bad is always happening. Like they're worried or screaming . So it would subconsciously lead the artist to depict them in peril
