Being at the event myself I can say that there were a lot of people who were actual fans of watches. It was great and I had a lot of great conversations with people who were who like me that didn’t have a lot of money but finally given the chance to own an omega. I’m sure there were scalpers, but there were many genuine fans.

I'm 100% with you on these. I went down around an hour before the early opening here (U.S.) just to see what it was like. I would like one, but know it's not limited. Absolute insanity! I didn't even bother getting in line, but chatted with a few people, took some pics of the craziness and went home before it opened. There were easily 1000+ people there. The worst part is they only had 45 watches per multiple reports, and there were people that had been there since midnight that did not get watches, because some people went in other entrances as "mall walkers" then went to the Swatch store and didn't leave while those that had been outside since 5p.m the previous day were outside waiting. Very poorly handled to say the least, and that few watches for a metro area of nearly 7 million just makes me shake my head. I may check back with the store, since it's 15 minutes from home. However, I'm not going to pay more than retail, nor would I wait more than 5 minutes at this point.

Totally agree Federico. As for the “bleeding”, if they bleed them I’m walking. I own the original and I will buy the Swatch as a fun disposable Summer watch but not if it stains my wrist.

i actually waited in line for a bit more than 1 hour and am glad i did. the people in the shop treated all of us like we where kings taking pictures with us being very helpful and for us low-middle class people is a bless to feel like we are actually part of this planet i now own the Mission on Earth.
